Restricted searchable church books
This article details which principles the National Archives must follow in regards to restricting access to searchable church books.
The digital archive cannot publish searchable information from the church registers about living persons. This will also apply to dissenting records, civil marriages and birth registers.
Baptism: Can be published freely when it has been 100 years since the event.
Confirmation: Can be published freely when it has been 86 years since the event. We assume that the person confirming was 14 years old at the time of confirmation.
Marriage: Can be published freely when it has been 82 years since the event. It is taken into account that couples under the age of 18 could marry.
Buriels: These can be published right up until today, because the people are dead. But there are exceptions for information about cause of death, health, religious conditions, finances, adoption etc. Such information cannot be published until after 100 years.
Stillbirths: Can be published freely when it has been 82 years since the event. We take into account that the parents may be 18 years old at the time of the child's birth.
Vaccination: Can be published freely when it has been 100 years since the event.
Communicants: Can be published freely when it has been 86 years since the event. We assume that the communicant is 14 years or older at the time of the incident.
In- and out-migrated: Can be published freely when it has been 100 years since the event.
Enrolled and deregistered by the state church: Can be published freely when it has been 100 years since the event.
Member lists: Can be published freely when it has been 100 years since the event.
